About Me

I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist. I completed my undergraduate degree in educational psychology and previously worked as an elementary school teacher. I have several years of experience supporting adults and youth who have thoughts of suicide and self-harm. My approach to counselling begins with sharing an authentic connection with my clients. Within that relationship I strive to create a safe space where you can get to know yourself better. This looks different for everyone but often includes digging into how you see yourself, your place in relationships and society, and who you are outside of the roles and expectations that influence you.

I truly believe that people have an innate desire to live a life of authenticity and connection. That can be exceptionally hard to do without taking the time to examine yourself and determine what that authenticity really looks like. We are often bogged down by the challenges of “real life.” Work takes too much time, relationships are complicated, everyone is tired. Sometimes we look around and wonder “How did this become my life?” In moments when things are good, we might be filled with joy or gratitude – we also might be anxiously awaiting the next crisis or challenge. How can we soak up the good things in life when the hard stuff feels so hard?

I see my role as being someone who will help you figure out how to get the most out of life in a way that is meaningful to you. I am excited to help you discover what you want and how to get it. I am here to help and support you as you gain clarity into who you are and what needs to change for you to have a life you feel at peace in. Once you have that vision, we will collaborate on a plan to get you there and I will support you at every step along the way. I’ll ask some hard questions and nudge you along when you get stuck, but really, the work is yours to do, and it is my privilege to support you in your journey of healing and self-exploration.
