About Me

I believe that our experiences and input from relationships build who we are. This can be something we are aware of, but it can also be an area for us to uncover on our healing journey.

In our work together, we may go back and explore your roots. Much like plants in nature, how we grow might be impacted by damage to our roots we might not be able to see. I invite you to be open to the process of deep, holistic work while we see all of the parts of you, including strengths, patterns of behaviour, and uncovered areas of growth.

I have a passion for working with people that has followed me through many walks of life to allow me to be here as a Canadian Certified Counsellor. Working with victims of crime, individuals with severe and persistent mental health concerns, those experiencing homelessness, and those with diagnoses of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder has allowed me to gain much knowledge. The most important piece of information I’ve learned in all of this is that the relationship we build in our work together is an important priority. In the beginning of our time together, we may focus a lot on the relationship to build healthy roots in our work going forward.

I often use trauma-informed Transactional Analysis in the counselling session while we work to promote self-discovery, ongoing self-awareness, and long-term mental wellness. My specialties include interpersonal conflict, self-awareness, New Age Spirituality, and processing life-long experiences. Depending on the work we do, we may also explore strategies from other counselling modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Narrative Therapy.

I was once told by an individual I worked with that knowing a few things about me allowed them to feel more connected to the therapeutic relationship. In that spirit, I would like to share, on the personal side, a few things about myself. I enjoy a variety of whimsical things in life such as taking pride in developing a green thumb, and exploring spirituality through crystals, tarot cards, and runes. My favourite season is Autumn. I place a high value on exploring creativity and authenticity. This ongoing journey can often be seen externally through my visual representation and my passion for thrifting.
